Finishing up the last bit of editing for the year, I realized I had not posted in here in almost two months! Going to get caught up, starting with Micah and Phoebe's wedding in Felicity, Arizona. The town was amazing! The entire wedding party and guests ended the evening dancing under the pink granite pyramid :) HERE is the link to their wedding. The music for their slide show was created by Micah aka Mic Doja
Happy Monday!

Don't Tell the Bride: Joe and Paola
Finally get to post some of my images from this summer's wedding, Joe and Paola Garcia, when they appeared on Oprah Winfrey Network's Don't Tell the Bride. HERE is a link to show online. I tried to stay out of the way, but can be seen walking out of the room at the London to take this shot!
Kyle Sparks had a time lapse camera going. Really fun! Will be available next year for your wedding, if you desire..HERE is the link.
Also, if you haven't seen their actual wedding, here is the link for their show. Joe's comment to me was I was able to capture their wedding looking like there were no cameras..well...almost!

Micah and Phoebe
There are soo many words to try and convey this wedding. I'm speechless. Let's just start with the video time lapse that was set up during the ceremony. It would have been too loud in such a small church, but it's fun any way!! HERE is the link If you would like something similar at your wedding, please let me know and we can work it out! xo, Ronnie
HERE is the online slide show of their wedding. Still can't get over the location. Phoebe and Micah looked stunning, don't you think?

Scarlett Belle: Barbarita and Ruben
This couple came to me from my relationship with the Scarlett Belle in the Channel Islands Harbor. Funny thing was they were friends with another couple of mine that I had shot their wedding earlier in the year in Arizona. Talk about a small world! Their kindness and complete comfort with each other made their photos even prettier, as they committed themselves to on another during a sunset ceremony at sea. HERE is a link to their wedding slide show.

Cassan and Patrick
Cassan and I met at Massage Envy, where I worked for a short period of time, after studying massage at Ojai School of Massage. Didn't end up staying there as my photography work, my passion, became my number one priority in my business life. But she was one of the many friends that I met during my journey with them. Turns out, her sister, Alysia Hudson, had been one of my favorite caregivers for my now grown up sons, years ago, so when Cassan and Patrick asked me to photograph their wedding, it was like photographing family :)
HERE is the link to their wedding slide show. Congratulations to Patrick and Cassan and to their new family that they have now formed!

Megan and Nate's wedding is in the LA Times :)
Jeanne Tanner referred this couple to me as she is out traveling the world. Nate and Megan met at Buena High School and got married at the Los Angeles Temple. Super cute couple and wonderful setting for photos, both at the Temple as well as Cate School in Carpinteria. Los Angeles times featured their wedding this weekend in the Sunday edition. Wedding slide show soon to follow! Once again, my couples make the photos easy!

Cassan and Patrick's wedding in time lapse
This is a feature that I tried on a couple of weddings this past summer. What do you think? Probably need to place camera so I can see the couple better, but it's a fun thing to add to a wedding photo package. Don't you think? Will add their real slide show when it's ready!

Lauren and Timur are married!
And here is the proof!
This Sunday's LA Times :)
What a wedding. Timur and Lauren went against the odds to plan a wedding at their local beach, Oxnard Shores. Such a beautiful day! Dance floor was covered in sand as they celebrated their wedding, just they way they wanted it to be! HERE is the slide show of their wedding! They planned and created all of the details and you can see it really came together! Congratulations to you both!!

Engagement Session Lauren and Chris
Lauren and Chris had scheduled an engagement session after booking their wedding on The Scarlett Belle in the Channel Island Harbor. While waiting for them, slowed down and took a deep breath of the salty air at the pier. Am forever humbled that somehow have been able to earn a living and provide for my family by doing what I love.

Micah and Phoebe Engagement Ventura, California
Having met this couple through a mutual friend, Micah and Phoebe booked me to shoot their wedding, at the "Center of the World" Felicity, Arizona. The couple met at work, but their relationship is anything but as they fall together in rythum with each other. Micah makes music, and he wrote a song for Phoebe, that plays with their slide show. Making each other smile. Kiss. Enjoy the moment.
We met up on a sunny, yet extremely windy day in Ventura, but this couple wasn't all concerned about the environment, only to capture their feelings for one another to save for a future date.
September 17, 2011 I will get to photograph their wedding, in a little chapel, built by Phoebe's grandfather, at the center of the world.
Love these two!! HERE is a link to their engagement slide show. Phoebe wanted to share, as it helped her decide whom should photograph HER wedding ;)

Scarlett Belle Jennifer and Kris April 29, 2011
Love shooting at the Scarlett Belle in the Channel Island Harbor. Jen and Kris were not the exception. It was a gorgeous afternoon and lots of love was in the ocean air as these two, long time friends committed their lives together. HERE is a link to their wedding slide show. Also, this wedding will be featured in LA Times "Together" section on Sunday, June 19th. Here is a link to the article :)
The Scarlett Belle is an awesome venue, on the water. The view is unbelievable and your guests will love the ever changing location as well as the superb view and service! I had the honor of photographing the owner's wedding, Andy and Michelle, a few years ago. And now I get to see them from time to time when I'm the photographer on board for a wedding.

Having the time of my life, doing what I love.
Haven't posted in awhile. Didn't seem fair to be writing, when I have lots of images to get off my computer and into peoples' lives. However, in doing so, I've been experiencing some pretty amazing things with my camera. If I can, I will share. Sometimes I forget to ask...so if you want me to, let me know. Like Phoebe and Micah. She told me she wanted me to share, as she found it helpful to see other people, not models, in front of my camera and wanted to be of help to others as well. Did I mention how much I LOVE my couples? We find each other for a reason. Their engagement session will be coming soon!
This weekend was amazing. I did photograph a very passionate couple in Redondo Beach when they promised themselves to one another. But I also photographed an event for a friend that involved flying in a helicopter and dinner with amazing people at the Four Seasons in Westlake Village. Here is a couple of photos that I know that are okay to share from this weekend, cause it's only photos of me...doing what I love to do, the best!

Connectedness..
The last two weekends, I have had the honor of being invited back to photograph weddings for families who had used me for my services before. That says a lot to me. They want me. Like my style. Trust me!
First was wedding of Georgianna (Anna) and Jacob Loudermilk. Had photographed Jacobs's sister, Jeannine's wedding to David two years ago this month. So glad when Anna and Jacob emailed me and invited me to shoot their wedding and that Jeanne Tanner was able to shoot with me as well since Jacob's son, Isaac was friends with Jeanne's daughter, and well. It just all came together.
Fast forward to this weekend. Jeanne and I took a day off while in Arizona, and we both went right back to shooting.
Had photographed a Gramarossa Family wedding last year, Danica and Bryan, but her brother, Brent got engaged the weekend of that wedding, and guess who they asked to be their photographer? Was soo happy! They were soo cute, despite the prediction of rain. They are well on their honeymoon in the Carribean!
Maybe, we will all meet up again soon! Until then, Aloha!

Outside of the box.
Anyone that has known me for a long time, knows that I usually follow the rules. The rules always seem to have been made by someone else, not always ones that I should have been living by. This week, this month and this past year have been about designing my box, my rules, for which the frame my life around. My oldest son is a musician and will be performing at Billy O's next week. He has an elaborate stage show he is planning. No rules. Jon, my youngest, will be fighting Muy Thai tomorrow at Commerce Casino. How did that happen? No set path for that career, for sure. And tomorrow, I will be photographing a wedding in Santa Barbara and will be ending up the wedding at the very location where I met their father. Some rules needed to be broken :) Attached are two random videos of our animals that I made for Jon since he has been living in Hollywood and his animals live here. Two of the other family members who didn't play by the rules as well. One goldfish who is forever surviving his surroundings and a dog that we rescued years ago from the pound.
I guess you can see, I am not a video person. I do, however, have someone who is and can be added onto your wedding coverage!
Have a great weekend!

Angelina and Mike's engagement
They met at her uncle's restaurant, Tony's in Carpinteria, while Angelina was his waitress, on her way to being a District Attorney:) She asked Mike if he would like another beer, and when he declined due to his work schedule, Angelina replied "go big or go home!" Mike, a big wave surfer, went big! Their wedding is this July in Montecito. Here is their slide show from their engagement session. We ended up at Tony's. Will be going back to this beach on their wedding day.

Memphis.
Last January, found myself waiting for my son to finish out his shift at Betty Belts, a store his father's girlfriend owns in Ventura. Was sitting in the rain listening to the radio, wondering what I should be doing next with my life, my photography career, when this song came on. A song I had heard many times before, but for some reason, on this day, it became part of my life. My sister moved to Memphis when I was young. Had raised her family there. Worked at St Judes, then U of Memphis in the Elvis Presley Trauma Unit. For some reasons, we, as a family, had never been. Our last real vacation was on the island of Oahu. My sons were in grade school, my husband wanting out of our marriage. I listened to this song and made a promise in my heart that I would go there, take my family there. Well, this year, that magic happened.
Josh and Jon and I traveled during the holidays to photograph an amazing couple's wedding. Yes, people get married everyday, but Megan had found me, and trusted ME, to capture the soul of her day, her life, as she married Alan. A church with history, in spite of tornado warnings, on New Years Eve. Was not going to let them down, in spite of the heavy rain, the missed flights....Her family and friend embraced me, brought me into their circle of life.
New Years Eve is also Jonathan's birthday. Once again, I was working. Sorry Jon, some things don't change too much, but I love you and was glad that your cousins and Aunt and Uncle could help you celebrate.
HERE is a link to their slide show. They have my favorite bridal party portrait to date, and she has allowed me to share it here as well as on my website! Here's to taking risks and sharing family time and creating great images along the way!
Alan and Megan, I love you for letting me capture your day, and to Memphis: I hope to walk in you many, many more times!

ps: we visited Graceland!!

Santa Paula Engagement Session
Sometimes, where the photograph is taken is not as important as what's being said with the photograph.
The day after Christmas, after soo much rain, the weather broke, leaving a window of opportunity for me to photograph Nate and Megan's engagement session, on Nate's family ranch in Santa Paula. The land's been in his family for years and provided a unique, well accessorized location to photograph the two of them. Megan was on break from her studies in Utah, so even with a bit of a cold, she held Nate's hand as the two of them took me on a private tour. We couldn't just decide on one location, as it had many faucets and amazing light, so just kept shooting and we came up with THIS.
Nate and Megan, it will be my honor to photograph you once again, next time, for your wedding in Santa Monica and Carpinteria. And until then, when life gives you lemons, take photos with them!
